About Black Earth
If you love country living, Black Earth is where you belong. The village is surrounded by 17,000 acres of public hunting land and the nearby Black Earth Creek offers great fishing (it is a class 1 trout stream!). It is just 20 miles west of Madison, so you still have great access to the city. If you love your screened porch and lots of land to roam, you are sure to find something you love in Black Earth.
Black Earth is located in the Driftless region of Wisconsin meaning that endless bluffs create the most beautiful landscape. Check out more about this region by clicking here!
Black Earth is a great place for dedicated bikers, as well as hikers because of the access to the nearby Ice Age Trail. In the summer there are concerts in the park as well as the annual event, Field Days.
Wisconsin Heights School District is shared between Black Earth and Mazomanie.
